The House of Decaying Porn... (Visited March 2012) Kent

Recommended Posts

I believe this also may also go under the title of Hoarders House…it’s in a little cinque port town in Kent..some mild HDR..so look away now if that offends…

Friday afternoon..sunny ..blue sky..epic failure on the first location due to me thinking a group of old decaying buildings looked great from the train..turned out to be someone’s stables !..so feeling somewhat dejected after a long walk we were driving out of the town when….

This old place was jammed packed with stuff…we could not get into some of the rooms as they were so full!...

Starting at the top we worked ourselves downwards..the older stuff was on the top floors and we spent a pleasant half hour in one room, the sun streaming through the window looking at some vintage porn…there were boxes of it !..I had a terrible time convincing fellow exploring buddy Kev that we should indeed photograph the rest of the house whilst it was still daylight! ..

The entire place had been ravaged, leaking roof and windows meant a lot of the remaining stuff was mouldy and very decayed..the floors were shot ! Was the perfect end to the week !

Brilliant, every splore location has it plus side, like the sheer size of some industrial splores (Pyestock and Millenium Mills) for example, but it's these forgotten time capsules that fo it for me, I could never pass a derelict house because you just never know whats inside, a bit like a luck dip really

Top shots too

this house always interested me..the yard was filled with junk..old cars..and other junk..it gave the appearence of being abandoned but someone clearly lived there

the area became prime real estate..mcmansions went up and taxes went up..i knew this houses wouldent last....i went by and saw it was finally empty
the 1st floor was a neat gloomy  house

rooms that feel like a horror movie

all the lights hung poorly..surpised there wasent a fir from them..

see more of that in a bit

      upstairs'

the upstairs was nthing but an attic...no bedrooms or bathroom..this was a single floor home..

      basement

a wood burning heater...thats an old way to heat a house

the last thing still hanging that shows the personality of the owner

      odd old stained glass

      not sure what that is...

..the dead and prarie home companion

There are a few male voices caught inside one seems like another lanuage

Little house somewhere in Belgium. Seems there lived an 103 year old lady and after a fire on the upper floor she left the house. Her son still comes there every week to feed the cat.

Recently, I´ve visited "Mold House". Of course, more than well-known. When I first set my eyes on pictures of that house with its amazing colours and its state of decay, I instantly fell in love. I´m glad I could fulfill my dream of visiting that place. I especially loved the pink colour of the armchairs being sokaed into the carpet.

The small chapel is idyllically situated on the hillside. Standing at the foot of the hill, the building is almost invisble. Thanks to the season, the knowing eye is able to spot the chapel between the sparse vegetation. Following up the slope for few minutes, a small weather-beaten wall appears. Climibing up the wall, there´s a small, overgrown path to follow.

Inside the chapel it´s silent. Peaceful. The roof is full of holes - traces of the ravages of time. Ivy climbs steadily through the biggest of them. There´s still a large crucifix on the wall. The detailed depiction of Jesus is still in an unbelievable excellent condition. While Jesus looks as good as new, everything around him is decaying relentlessly.

Unfortunately, I hardly have any information about the chapel. Old commemorative plaques testify that the chapel was probably errected by a local noble family. The building should be far more than 100 years old by now.

This was yet another revisit ,but this time i actually spent some time and got some half decent shots, and Obs let me play with the fisheye..Not a huge amount of pics for a change..
Visited with SpaceInvader Obscurity and Stealth..Very nearly ended thigh high in water in what looked like a solid container, turns out it was full of water and crap so a wet foot was a lucky escape.....There is a Motorhome type of affair on site and entry to access is a tad on the dodgy side. and at one point end of the evening Legs had to be done from a nice shiney police car heading for where we had just rapidly left.
bit of history from tut net
Fire brigade plans of the 1970s name these 'D.O.E Tunnels', and they were at the time at the rear of the Dover Storage Company, in Limekiln Street. This area now forms a shipping company's yard. The tunnels themselves probably date back to the early 19th Century, but must have been worked over a period of years, and are just East of the Oil Mill Caves. There is evidence of use throughout the years, including use as air raid shelters during WW2, and a stairway seemingly built during this time links the tunnels to the main train tunnel nearby. A large portion at the rear of the tunnel has suffered a severe roof fall at both ends of a tunnel intersecting the main chamber. The brickwork in the main section is impressive and remains in good condition.
      Some pictors.

      Thanks for looking.
