I like it that you always take a lot of details while others might miss them.
Thanks Andy appreciate that! I’m not into “ estate agent” shots. I’m walking in someone’s life so try to capture the moment without being sensational

You've captured this really well. I agree with Andy, you do go a bit further with detail, maybe a little more than I would but at least you don't miss anything.

I love the papers and tins. Proper old stuff.

I like the detail shots but I do think some pics showing the full rooms gives it more scale and more of a feel for the place personally

Always makes me sad when i see stuff like this.. It is obvious that it was some old bloke that lived on his own. I hate to think of people ending up like this, and then, at the end, their lifes possessions, their treasures, are just dumped buy people that just want to get their hands on the old persons estate. Take this bloke, you can see that he was a practical man, and he obviously loved horses, as he did really well with them judging by all the certificates he has there. He was a good engineering type too. In picture number ten, the machine the bottle is standing on is a shaping machine. For those that do not know, google "Elliott shaping machine" and you will get something very similar. he was obviously a good electrician too, as in picture fourteen i can see an ancient multimeter. I "think" it might be a very old "Avometer" You would have to be pretty good to use one of these at all.. In picture sixteen, i can see a "norgren" air regulator. As there is lots of dental stuff there too, i wonder if he was a dentist?? The treacle tin with the bolts in it.. They are very old. The thread is Whitworth, but i can see from the ratio of the thread size to nut size that they are prewar.. There is a fretsaw, so he obviously did fine woodwook and was obviosly keen on photography and working on cars too.

Still, did not stop him from being alone, as i presume the photograph of the girl in school uniform and the card addressed to "Mr Davy" was sent by a neighbours daughter?? or someone that rode his horses for him??

So sad to see all his stuff just dumped like that though. It is a terrible world we live in, the amount of greed you see is shocking..

What a great post. I wouldn't have remotely considered half of what you have noticed.
