In the north of Germany, the dolls are hidden in a little forest next to a motorway exit. Although much smaller, this "forest of the creepy dolls" is reminiscent of the "Isla de las Muñecas" (an island in Mexico on which hundreds of mutilated toy dolls are hung in the trees. They were supposed to drive away the ghost of a drowned girl and the place is a tourist attraction now).
Unfortunately I don't know who hung the dolls in this wooded area or why.
