History

This was once a Dairy Farm, built in 1725 as a Georgian Farmhouse. It's most recent resident was Ellen Jones who diedin the 70's. I believe that some of her family also lived there as there are lots of bits of paperwork for a Francis Jones & a gentleman with the same surname.

The house is stunning, a beautiful example of a house during it's era. Finished with art deco furnishings and ornate door surrounds and ceiling fixtures it was quite a grand little place.

It was dubbed 'Red Dress Manor' but the red dress is gone and even if it was there I wouldn't use the code name. I might as well call it hanging trouser Manor. Its called Calcott Hall people! haha!

This farmhouse has more or less a written / photographic story of the residents who once lived there.

Cupboards littered with bread and cake making supplies and ingredients showed the life of a typical farmhouse wife.

Exterior buildings litter the farmhouse, some still being used today with the farmland scattered with cattle.

Set in a beautiful little countryside, I cant help but think this really would have been beautiful in it's day.

The Explore

Well, I have really caught the cottaging bug. I quite like little places like this, not knowing that I ever would. I actually used to look at reports and think blimey who would find that fascinating but I am eating my words right here as I type this. I am now one of those people.

This is one of those places that I have seen a lot of, over the years I have noticed as people have put new reports up things going missing, items getting stolen or removed and notably the decay increasing.

Visited with @Hamtagger it had been a busy weekend, starting off in Cardiff and working back up to Shropshire.

This isn't in a great state anymore, nature has well and truly taken over the front section of the house, the front room floors have collapsed, the windows are broken and upstairs is not much better. It does make way for a lovely bit of decay though.

More than anything I really enjoyed seeing the letters, 21st Birthday cards and photo's around the place. It gives a better picture when you can put a face to a name.

The cars sat in the garages outside topped it off perfectly for me, sad to se that even the badges had been stolen, windows smashed etc but it seems that little shits can't leave anything alone these days.

Anyway, on with the pics...

Fine piece of cottaging there @Urbexbandoned :D

Really like that write up, the bottle shot and all the other little bits and bobs. I must've been walking around with my eyes shut that day as i missed half of these bits  :?

Thanks, being a cake maker that little bottle stood out to me. There was so much stuff there strewn about as you know. It was fine pickings for pics, good thing is its s nice way to add a bit of variation to reports with different things.
