This mansion was built in 1911 in the Anglo-Norman style.
In 1919 the builder's son moved in there.

The manor house and its Japanese garden remained privately owned until 1959.

During the war, the buildings were confiscated by German troops and initially served as troop accommodation. From 1942 the building was used by the SS.

In February 1944 it became a home of the Lebensborn e.V.
The Lebensborn e. V. was a state-sponsored association sponsored by the SS during the Nazi era, the aim of which was to increase the birth rate of "Aryan" children on the basis of National Socialist racial hygiene and health ideology
(https://www.spiegel.de/geschichte/ss-lebensborn-a-948211.html).

Around 23,000 children were born in these facilities.
Heinrich Himmler was president of this association, which was founded in 1935 and dissolved in 1945. Popularly known as the
Himmlers-Gebär-Verein or breeding stations.
Before the building was evacuated in August 1944, about 20 children were born here.

After the mansion was uninhabited for 10 years, it was acquired by a foundation for the treatment and professional training of cripples.

After various medical uses and some extensions, the building now stands on a large forest plot with a center for physical medicine and rehabilitation for children.

What a place with some great history. As well as everything else, I really like that old kitchen! One thing I noticed scrolling through, it appears your second shot and 19th shot in the report are repeated.

What a lovely place.
History certainly is fascinating, I hope that is preserved.
