Germany Cinnabar mining gallery (visited 09/2016)

The mining tunnel dates back to the 14th century, it served to break down Cinnabar (mercury sulfide).​

A legend tells that the tunnel was used as a hiding place in the 18th century, by the robber & thief Johannes Bueckler, called "Schinderhannes".​
