Looked pretty tidy back then, it's amazing how much it's gone down hill. It's a nice change to have a look back in time at this

yes it did .... its just such a shame that the asylums are disappearing fast either by being converted or knocked down :(

Well, look at Denbigh now. It's not a pretty sight, pretty much falling to pieces and will be lost forever if not converted. I'm actually quite impressed with some of the conversions, they seem to retain much more of the buildings when converting asylums than other types of buildings. I had a look around St John's in Lincoln recently, and High Royds a little while back, and they are pretty good conversions. Yeah, it's no longer an asylum, but it's safeguarded those buildings for a long time to come.

Same as already said, it looked not too bad-ish a few years back but really went downhill in the years after. Cheers for the post :)  

Like @AndyK! was saying too, they should've got on this place years ago for conversion as surely it must cost so much more to retain after it's been left to ruin even further.
