There are 2 MiG-21s and one SU-22.
The SU-22 (NATO code: Fitter) was sold around 1,000 times and the NVA buyed it 56 times.
The SU-22 was a fighter-bomber that was flown with the JBG-77 and the MFG-28, both based in Rostock-Laage.
The machine here, Tactical No. 682, is a SU-22M-4 and was the most modern version of the SU-22 series.
It was put into service with the serial number 26204 on March 7, 1985.
On October 3rd, 1990 the machine with the tactical NR. (BW) 25-17 decommissioned.
It was in used at the Jagdbombenfliegergeschwader 77 (JBG-77)

The MiG-21 (NATO code: Fishbed) is, with 10,300 aircraft built, one of the most widely built combat aircraft after World War II.
They have been flown in more than 50 states and there have also been a number of licensed builds.
The NVA had 556 machines in 12 different descriptions.
The two machines standing here, MiG-21U-400 Tactical No. 251 (BW 23-88) and MiG-21U-600 Tactical No. 289 (BW 23-95) training jets and used by the Fliegerausbildungsgeschwader 15 (FAG-15 ) "Heinz Kapelle" in Rothenburg.
Before the entire training is at FAG-15 (formerly JAG-15), every JG has his own training department.
The training machines were previously owned by the JG.
The U-400 (serial number: 66 1016) was used as a training aircraft from December 15, 1964 to October 1990. It was the school version of the first MiG-21 version. This machine was in the JG-9, JG-2, JAG-15 and JG-3. It was the last machine to come to the FAG-15 from Preschen in 1986.
The U-600 (serial number: 66 4620) was used as a training aircraft from May 23, 1967 to March 1990. Also this machine was used at the JG-9, JG-2 and JAG-15.
The JAG-15 (Jagdfliegerausbildunggeschwader), was the predecessor of the FAG-15.
Today the jets are in the open field, on the edge of an airfield, are weathered and rott.
This is the reason why there is no demolition on the jets.
