The word hafod is a Welsh word referring to the seasonal cycle of transhumance - the movement of livestock and people from a lowland winter pasture at the main residence to a higher summer pasture from roughly May through October.

this is a true time capsule hidden from view a hard life for the young brother and sister of the family in a 2 bedroom cottage bereft of a bathroom bereft of an inside toilet
They shared a bedroom crammed still with their boys and girls toys but notice the walls of the bedroom: Stone; no insulation no double glazing no central heating
just an open fire place in their bedroom to give heat through the cold hard winter of this sea facing farm cottage
what memories this place must hold

Nice to see Eirwens house of dolls again. Golden oldie this one which has changed a lot. Seems the crazy owner has boarded it now, shes to be avoided if anyone goes, shes mad!
I spoke to Eirwen by phone last week after tracking her down, but need to call her again to have a proper chat about what the story is on her childhood home any why the kids bedrooms were left as they were. Ill report back here with her story.

It is good to see the place hasn't altered too much and some of the familiar things still there (I didn't see the Bimbo annual though)

I found this one quite a curious one - in that abandoned cottages rarely have so many things left behind that belonged to children. I'd be really interested @a World in Ruins in what story you manage to find.
