Belgium HF6 Blast Furnace (RIP), Belgium - January 2015

I visited HF6 on an epic trip last year with @Wevsky, @extreme_ironing, @Obscurityand Monkey. I'd forgotten about it until someone mentioned today that it's currently being demolished so I decided to dig out my pictures. On this day Wevsky faced his fear of heights and we all had a go at wearing the worker's rather fetching outfits. After that we returned to our scabby hotel to listen to the hooker next door noisily satisfying her customers all night. 

Seraing blast furnace number 6 belongs to the Arcelor-Mittal group.  It halted production in 2009 due to the economic crisis.  The purpose of a blast furnace is to chemically reduce and physically convert iron oxides into liquid iron (hot metal). The blast furnace is a huge, steel stack lined with refractory brick, where iron ore, coke and limestone are dumped into the top, and preheated air is blown into the bottom. 

RIP HF6, you gave us much rust and dirtied our clothes, we will never forget you. ​

Oh mate i hadn't realised you didnt post this report,was a non stop trip with a lot of stupidity and laughs..frogs where fondled and sheep where aggressive..great company and it's sad to see this one go!
