On one evening midweek we decided it would be good to get one last explore in, due to us not being able to get ou for the next few weeks. Nighttime explores are never our choice but when you can’t help but get out, you’ll take it over nothing. So a secluded countryside explore in the dark down at Holdings was what we decided to do.

This well covered site wasn’t news to us, but we had completely forgotten about it and how close it was. The dark made for some different shots of the place. We were worried about our lights so just did quick bright shots with our camera lights and I’ve tried to make look as appealing as possible :)

History:

Holding's Country Pottery was originally founded in 1842 by James Holding. The original pottery was built a short distance away in Gaulkthorn, another outlying area of Oswaldtwistle.
James Holding moved his business to Broadfield in 1860, and in 1900 his son Grimshaw Holding; set up the pottery on the present site where the derelict remains sit.
From then till it’s closure; the pottery stayed here and the business was passed down from father to son until it's decline.

Jeez a lot of stuff left in there. Looks a bit of a mission to clamber over it all though!
