Lydden Spout Plotting room, Dover, July 2011

Lydden Spout Battery was constructed in 1941 there are still many features of the site to be seen, I went with the intent of exploring the underground shelter but was unable to find it so second visit planned, I did however find the "Plotting Room" so took a look round inside there instead.

It looks like it would have been in great condition inside as its possibly the cleanest Ive been in however it has been trashed and most of this looks as though it may have been done in recent years

I dont know about more recent years mate id say within the last year when we went down there was indeed a nice guest book historical photos in frames etc ..its a waste mate

The shelter is accessible from the steep cliff path which snakes down the cliff behind the plotting room. It's doable, but I wouldn't try it in Windy or wet weather as if you slip the only way is down

Ah i sent him in the right direction he went down and back up and couldnt spot it..tbh ive heard a few poeple whove done that and missed actual entrance..ive yet to man up and give it a try
