Some History

Founded in 1873 as Moreton-In-Marsh Cottage Hospital. Extensions were built in 1935.

The hospital became part of the NHS in 1948 under Banbury and District Hospital Management Committee. Subsequently responsibility passed to Cheltenham District Health Authority in 1974, Cheltenham and District Health Authority in 1982, East Gloucestershire NHS Trust in 1991 and Cotswold and Vale Primary Care Trust in 2002. It is now run by Gloucestershire Primary Care Trust.

The Explore

I've got/had an absolute free weekend, so seems as it's been a while I thought I'd go exploring....First went to Great Tew House, found it but the grass cutter politely informed it was private property! Had this one starred on Google Maps so thought I'd carry on to it and see.

Pretty boring inside, one of the rooms smelt like fresh paint, and that's about it really!

Did you manage to set the alarms off on the ground floor? Spent about half an hour hiding upstairs waiting for the security to come turn it off at the start of the year!

Kind of boring and a bit plain, but was something to do I suppose.

Yeah I like the window pics too

Didn't hear any alarms or anything? The entry point looked pre prepared and the only sensor I saw never flashed. Maybe I was lucky.

It could have been removed at some point then, it was the loudest alarm I have heard for some time haha. It was hidden in a room off the main ground floor corridor putting a beam through the doorway into the hall so as soon as you walked down it the alarm would go off. Might have to give it a better going over if the alarm isn't working any more.

Well so far this weekend I have attempted a few different explores in Gloucestershire, Worcestershire & Shropshire and Moreton has been the only place I have been able to enter!....Think it's about time I travelled a little further north....
