Right first of me and unclebulgaria went out to have a look see if noahs ark was accessible, which it was due to vandals stripping the building and basically wrenching open every door they could..the dividing wall from the barwicks to noah's ark road section had been smashed down ..well brickwork and the door with strudy lock gone..we worked our way right up to the noah's ark road entrance heard cars and a womans voice then the crackle of a police walki talkie..assuming they where inside and just ahead of us we stealthily turned backtowards our entrance expecting a police escort home..but as it happens nothing there..so after that we headed dopwn to winchelsea, westmount &priory hill chalk quarry which i believe was dug out for the chalk to be used on the dover harbour work..the tunnels had a lot of storage inside the big double doors which where wide open and the main tunnel up was tricky to clamber over till we got to a left turn..and going further forward was pretty much blocked now not knowing the layout of said tunnels that well not sure where that lead too..but we ventured round and got to the Fiveways Junction..where 2 sections had been blocked up with breeze blocks and thank you to whoever removed enuff for us to keep going..my lighting was a cree lenser which dissapointingly didnt have the promised flood to spot lense ..well it did it just didnt work that well so excuse the lighting ,should have taken me maglite..right on with noahs ark as many pics as we got before we quickly went back away from the voice of the police lady with the radio !!

Right on with some pics..not my best but s**t happens

Nice one Wevsky. I've not been to any of these sites before, if you're ever re-visiting let me know. :)

Pics aren't that bad, can tell what they're off and most of them are in focus, so good enough for me!

cheers maniac..and did have a few problems with the focus even tho auto focus appeared to do its thing..in some cases it just didnt ..torchas bright as it was with its cree chip a bit of a let down..noahs ark due to the amount of vandalism of the main site entrance is on and the fact the dividing wall to naoh's ark road end has been smashed may bot be do-able for long..but yeah return visits are an idea..the winchelsea tunnels have way to much stuff being stored in them !

When I went through the right hand blockwork hole of Winchelsea Tunnels some big flying insect followed me focussing on my head torch so I raced off thinking it was a wasp (it sounded like an airplane due to the echoes) - damn thing kept finding me. Do you know what's beyond the two blocked ends? I think Herbivore posted some good plans on another site but they don't show what lies beyond
What the blocked exits after the breeze blocks..one exit must have been westmount college and the other an exit up priory hill way somewhere..and yes herbivore has good plans..id like to know where the passage went that we first went into..was looking for the metal gate but just before it was a very inviting double door..just couldnt squeeze thru all the stuff down there..was a good explore shame me torch let me down, and a tad of focusing that wasnt right even tho i had auto focused as u do!!

The dividing wall in the Noah's Ark tunnel, which seperates it fron the Barwicks end was taken down last year with permission from John Barwick when the tunnel was opened-up for a group visit I organised last year. The first time I went in there a few years ago now, the wooden dividing wall wasn't there at all. It was built on the Noah's Ark side without their knowledge at about the same time the FW Dairy bottle was stolen which is in my thread on the place. You could have got in the tunnels much easier if you'd turned-up at the open day a few months ago. They were open all day and it was free. Not the same though is it? :D
erm i agree not the same ,and in my defence hadnt realised it existed few months back!and barwicks long gone and trashed basically very trashed as we came out 2 lads where going in to collect scrap as they put it..and the dividing wall was a bit of brickwork and a door with the padlock on which i think was still there but the door wasnt exactly there..the barwicks end was opened up by twats looking behind every locked door and out building on the site..shame people have to trash things aye unfairytale :)

You don't mean the room with the two entrances - the right hand one turned into a bit of a clamber over stuff while the one on the left went past some old cart and seemed a lot more open?
ah the one on the left had the old single gate on it..yeah we came out that way the entrance just before that was double doors and after a few feet in was full of stuff..walked along side that to the left turning leading to adjacent tunnel where the gate entrance was..but straigh on ot was packed to the ceiling with pallets of stuff looking at the map it only went on a bit to a dead end
