The first paper mill already existed at this location in 1838.
In 1862 the first paper machine was installed and used.
Another paper machine was added each year in 1866 and 1884.
In 1911, 340 people were employed.

Production could be maintained until the Second World War and then went
after gradually retreating, in April 1944 the paper mill was forcibly closed.
In the last days of the war, the factories were severely damaged by fighting, and production at the site that had not been dismantled did not start again until November 1945.

In 1947 the VEB paper factory was founded and the company developed
to the parent plant of VEB Druck- und Spezialpapiere, founded in 1969, seat Xxxxx,
to which the paper mills in Nossen, Technitz, Steina and Leisnig belonged.
In 1981 the plant was incorporated into the VEB Papierfabrik Drei Werden.

Among other things, paper for electrical engineering purposes and aging-resistant paper were produced.
In 1990 paper production in Xxxxxx came to an end for a short time, only three years later.

the paper mill Xxxxxx GmbH was founded. Today the company produces format, packaging and crepe papers and employs around 65 people
Production took place in this building until 2013.

Due to several flood damage, the building was abandoned and the company moved to a new, more modern location.
