Power plant operations started in 1905.
Between 1941 and 1949 the plant was then extensively modernized and expanded. At the beginning of the 1960s there was a further expansion.
In addition to electricity and district heating, process steam was also supplied to industrial customers.
In the 1970s, the power plant was expanded by a gas block and the oldest coal boilers were taken out of service.
The youngest coal boilers were overhauled again in the 90's and then also decommissioned in 1996.
At the end of the last millennium, the coal block boiler houses were demolished.
After more than 100 years of operation, the power plant was finally shut down in 2018.
In the meantime, the site has been sold to a group of companies that prepares the site for subsequent use.
