Over the years I've been lucky enough to see this site on many occasions, But after getting a few messages from friends seeing a way of getting in that wouldn't last, I had to go again and im shocked how bad the place has got. The site was easy to get into and after sending a few messages myself and everyone being busy I went along on my own.

The amount of water coming in through the roof and a lack of willingness to fix it is what shocks me the most. The night club below is still running so thats what the tarps are there for in the photos. I wont do a copy of the detailed history from the report Urbandoned posted last month (i knew a few would have done this at the time).

Brief History
Originally opened in 1928 as The New Victoria Theatre with seating for 2000 over 2 levels. Over the years the place changed owners and names a few times. It even lost its whole lower floor to the now nightclub below. The original projector room was situated inside the dome which is still there above that red ceiling, they smashed holes in it to suspend that red ceiling. The cinema finally closed in 1992.

Just a few photos from this visit as I'm guessing I may have covered it well by now :)

This is quite close to me, I'll have a look next time I'm in Preston, thanks for the report.

Beautiful seats, and bastard big hole in that dome. Like many great old cinemas unfortunately. :comp
