Finally got round to seeing this, it mostly got unprioritised under more prioritisable places along with other lame excuses.

Not too much info is available about this set of tunnels but it's known to have been used as a refuge by the Royal Marines. There are two levels to the tunnels, the lower a refuge/sleeping area and the upper a casualty clearing station for the nearby hospital. Also noted associated offices, first aid and toilet areas and plant/machinery rooms.

I love that it is free from graff and the usual chavtastic trashing of places such as this, and that the benches are still hanging on their chains, not that I was willing to try them out given the state of the remaining rotting wood features and stairs in here.

The brazen entrance route is probably mostly the reason for this place being in such good condition.

Explored one fine weeknight with non member TheLocksmithman. (Thanks for joining me bro, and if you read this I hope the fingers are ok..)

7 The stairs between the two levels - ropey to say the least but ok if you stuck to the railings, as were the stairs down from the entrance in the next pic.

Thoroughly enjoyed it in here, despite having life threatening woman flu.

Nice one, great set of pics.

As it appears to be open again I should get my backside down there really before someone puts a lock on it again.
