The house was built in 1859 by John Taylor, a manufacturer and dyer of cloth. He sold the house to James Sharp, a factory owner from Bradford.
It was said to be haunted by One of Mr Sharp's daughters she was not allowed to marry her lover, and as a result her spirit is still said to walk the upstairs of the house. (wich has caved in) Since then, the house had been converted into an old people's home and members of staff had sworn they had seen her walking around upstairs.
There was also a murder here, A mr Teddy simpson age 56 was killed by a gang in 2007 after his money, his body was found dumped at the derelict site.
