  1. it looks like this place is being cleaned up or there are squatters; a mate went 3 hours after me and there was a guy on site working; alas someone has nicked all the dildos; vainglorious dickheads have also been on site "tagging" still some cracking vintage porn to be seen as well as some great items the guy was sure a hoarder
  2. Yes there is a good book out called bomb girls ( got it off pirate bay) this one in Wrexham is now not much left and this site is currently up for sale
  3. I went arse over tit when in Kashmir on holiday a couple of years back. A rather informative sign
  4. There were four different types of munitions factory: Engineering factories producing the metal casings for bombs and shells or, in some instances, producing parts, rifles, guns and tanks. Small-arms factories producing the bullet casings. (These factories were often existing engineering factories turned over to war production.) Explosive factories manufacturing various explosive agents. Filling factories to fill the bomb and shell casings with the explosives. This site produced Cordite and was chosen for its distance from German bomber bases in Europe, while having good rail networks and a rural location that provided a good supply of labour. This ROF employed circa 13000 during WW2 mainly women. The Ministry of Works built a large water abstraction and treatment plant , just to supply the plant. To connect the site to the national rail network, a large marshalling yard of 10 separate roads was constructed, and these connected to the works' internal network of rail lines. A passenger platform was built for military usage. All the cordite produced at the plant was taken by these sidings to Crewe. The site was well defended, both on the ground and from the air; several Type 22 Pillboxes and Type 24 Pillboxes and the entire site was under a mile away from RAF base, which was home to at least one fighter squadron, for defending the region's industrial assets from bomber attack.
  5. yes it is just bricks scribed on: this was the scene of prolonged serial serious sexual and physical abuse of young boys during the 60s and 70s; so to a lot of people very poignant; having revisted security has been stepped up due to the building being abandoned awaiting local authority decision on demolition; the fear is that former residents may take deliberate action; £20 would not even get me inside for a brief period to take some pictures alas It may be one for the future
  6. External reccie complete only 8 x heads away from entry; was there an hour on way out security arrived so probs cctv still working; Found some graffitti carved in the brickwork by some of those incarcerated hope to be in next week
  7. Not sure about the boards, looks like all renovating has stopped
  8. Pool Parc, near Ruthin, dates back to the 16th Century when it was home to the Salesbury family and the manor house was rebuilt for William Bagot, 2nd Baron Bagot, in the 1820s. It was apparently lost in a bet by the Bagot family and it was later sold to the District Health Authority, becoming a convalescent home and then an asylum, used as an overspill for North Wales Hospital in Denbigh before closing in 1989. Have also found an old pic of what it looked like in better times It is very dark inside and if you are doing the upper floors take a good torch as someone has removed the odd tread in the temporary staircase
  9. Yeah that makes sense hoping to bump into others from my area to explore alongside
  10. Thanks mate bit of a novice at this, just finding my feet cheers
  11. production ceased in 2015 most of the buildings demolished and operational plant removed; seems to be visited occasionally by security company whilst it is flogged off
  12. Must have just missed the last visitor; no longer a pink nightie never mind red dress!! it pisses me off that needy individuals have to leave a tag "oooooo look at me ive left my mark" just get in have a mooch take your pix and fuck off out; its not big its not clever to steal items or cause damage that just causes bigger problems for other explorers
  13. Needless to say our guide was brilliant and there is no access to the radar structures as all ladders have been locked off. It is also a criminal offence to attempt to climb said structures I bet you have done great pictures from said structures
