  1. Visited on a very rainy afternoon with Voorhees. Really wasn't expecting the huge scale of this place! CWM coke works opened in 1958 in the coal producing town of Beddau. The coke works would process the majority of the hundreds of thousand of tons of high quality, low sulphur coal produced per year, into high grade coke, suitable for foundry use. The coke works was closed in 2002 and has been abandoned since. Thanks for Looking
  2. I know the owners of this abbey, really friendly people and have shown me around the place several times and I have infact stayed there overnight. They are working very hard to single handedly restore the property, and have very nearly completed the stables and Brewhouse.
  3. Would love to get a pump down there so we can access the lower levels (oh the irony ) but would take weeks to pump out. Don't think anyone has cracked this one before we went in, evidence of scrappers but cant find anything from fellow explorers.
  4. As far as i can make out, this river pumping station was built with Hams all C in 1956 and closed in 1992. A great little find next to the river and just when you thought Hams Hall had given all it had to give. A Shame the bottom levels are flooded as there is some hugeee pumps down there. Visited With Bubblehead and Voorhees. Cheeky Face Reflection v Thanks for looking

  6. Hi guys, as some of you might now I am a volunteer worker at Drakelow so I thought I would give you the information first along our volunteers press release. On a personal note I am absolutely gutted, there are so many good people who have given up a lot of their own time, money and resources to help restore this historical site. Just as the possibility of getting the museum open was coming into grasp it feels like it might all be taken away by this news. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hereford-worcester-25124814http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hereford-worcester-25124814 Drakelow Tunnels Volunteers Press Release: Thanks for reading

  15. Another stop on last months Scotland road trip. Had heard about this place for years and was pretty much expecting to find it in ruins, surprised to find a lot of nice features still remain and had a great time finding our way around this one. Stopped to chat to some local kids who looked all set to have a party at the altar, they where friendly enough and quite interested in what we where doing there. Only bad point, they didn't offer me one of their cans of special brew, pfhh kids today ay. Thanks for looking
