Hello guys and girls, We have been inactive for a while due to work and other stuff, but we had a trip to Belgium last week. Finally! We had a visit at Chateau Miranda/Noisy, you can see the footage here. Please let us know what you think of it! Thanks for watching:D
We knew we were close, and although we tried to find the location by driving around, we really werenâ€™t getting any closer. So it was a case of parking the car and seeing if we could locate it on foot. There was what appeared to be a path leading up towards a possible, so we started up. More or less straight away something caught my eye. A pretty new looking lens cap, one for an Ultrasonic Canon. Either we were on the right path, or actually someone else had a similar idea and that was a fail too. Fingers crossed it was the former. I have to admit, I was glad it had been dry for the last few days, otherwise the path up would have been a quagmire and that would not have been much funâ€¦ Eventually we reached the top and in to the opening. At first I wasnâ€™t sure we were in the right place, then there it was. In the same instant of joy at finding it, the thoughts of looking out for the loony local with a shotgun. The lawn had been cut recently, but judging from the grass left to decompose, it had been left for a fair old while until being attended to. Good news I guess. If the visits were infrequent, then perhaps we could be OK. The place is not only empty, but pretty trashed. Not just due to the ingress of weather, but vandals too Going upstairs the decay is all too evident. This shot is taken from the doorway, and that was close enough Making our way upstairs, access to the roof was pretty straightforward and the view was well worth it. There are other areas which I know we didnâ€™t get to, and perhaps it is a lack of bravery to wander across floor beams to get to the other sights of this location, but I was happy enough to have been able to visit this place before it falls completely. The abandoned fairy tale castle, Castle Miranda aka ChÃƒÂ¢teau de Noisy stands rotting and crumbling atop a large hill in Celles, Belgium. Surrounded by Forest, depending upon how you approach the building you are pretty much on top of it before you can clearly see where it is located. Visited with Kriegaffe9 and Andy K the last stop on day 1 of the Ã¢â‚¬Å“missing man tourÃ¢â‚¬Â we arrived just in time for sunset! Having waited years to see this place I first visited around 18 months ago at the end of 2012, IÃ¢â‚¬â„¢m really glad I got to revisit this place especially with rumours of an impending demolition. I managed to climb the rooftops again at the rear and we also found our way across the dodgy joist walk to see the twin baths and access one of the turrets both areas missed on our first trip. Thankfully we didnÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t have the pleasure of meeting the grounds keeper this timeÃ¢â‚¬Â¦ It was nice to explore this place without being shot at . 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. The Trip/Report This is a short collection of snaps from two trips I've made to Belgium with my girlfriend over the past year and a half. I've only just signed up but hopefully these are illustrative of the sort of things I've been up to recently(ish). I won't include history as all of them have been covered extensively and I'm unsure as to how much detail is appropriate considering the more anonymous nature of our Belgian friends. If anyone (mods etc.) want specific history then I'll be happy to edit and include anything necessary.
