  1. Hey, hello to all from Chicago. I've ended up poking around on this site more than a few times researching locations and sites to explore, so seems fair to contribute some of my finds :-) Live and work here in the Midwest, USA, but also live and work a month or two a year in Eastern Europe, so I'll have reports from both regions. My interest in Urbex started over 3 decades ago scavenging some refractory bricks out of the old Wisconsin Steel plant (South Chicago) and I have continued exploring ever since. Thanks to everyone who has already contributed and I look forward to participating. Staklo
  2. Found you guys on an email from olympus about photographing abandoned places... I'd always been fascinated with urban explorers and their photographic adventures. Hope to find like minded people here.
  3. Hi, my name is Matteo and I'm from Italy. I've been into urbex for like 2-3 years but, since I usually don't have someone to go with, my visits are very few at the moment, but I hope to do it more and more as soon as possible. Even if I'm not so active in the "practical way", me and one of my friends are mapping all the abandoned places in Italy and now we have more than 2000 sites (and there is so much good stuff there...)! I signed up here because I "feel" that a foreign urbex community is far better than the Italian one, so here I am. I hope to make you guys understand me even if English isn't my first language... Nice to meet you and have a nice day P.S My nick is an allusion to Urbanturizm, the Youtube channel that made me fall in love with urban exploration, you should definitely check it out if you don't know it.
  4. Hello, I'm new here but have been an explorer for a couple of years. Located around N.C and V.A. just posted to say hi!
  5. Long time lurker, first post! I've always been fascinated by Urbanex photography but despite this I've never done any. We had a talk at our camera club in Bracknell Monday just gone and I've been inspired to finally go and do some. I'm not sure what there is around me that I can start with but once the snow dies down I'll go and have a look around and see what's about Anyway, hope to follow up with another post containing photos in the not to distant future!
  6. Hi just joined thought I’d say hi

  8. Longtime urban explorer (43 years so far) currently residing in South Florida where there is absolutely nothing of interest but I was lucky enough to spend 38 years in the Northeast where there are/were numerous Kirkbride Design Asylums, abandoned subway stops, hospitals, cemeteries, etc and 5 years in the United Kingdom where there are everything and anything of interest.

  10. How to post a report using Flickr Flickr seems to change every time the wind changes direction so here's a quick guide on how to use it to post a report... Step 1 - Explore and take pictures Step 2 - Upload your chosen pictures to Flickr like this.. Step 3 - Once your images are successfully uploaded to flickr choose a category for the location that you have visited... Step 4 - Then "Start New Topic".. You will then see this screen... Step 5 - Now you are ready to add the image "links", known as "BBcodes", which allow your images to display correctly on forums.. Step 6 - Then click "select" followed by "view on photo page".. Now select "Share" shown below.. Step 7-13 - You will then see this screen... Just repeat those steps for each image until you're happy with your report and click "submit topic"! You can edit your report for 24 hours after posting to correct errors. If you notice a mistake outside of this window contact a moderator and they will happily rectify the problem for you
