  1. This was day one of our tour de la derp.. Fascinating place and many rooms full of allsorts including the basement level with the bits everyone wants to see.. Visited with sx-riffraff ,Crazy fool and spaceinvader who was having 40 winks back atthe car The horror labs is situated in a now mainly converted area so making access not as straightforward as youd like ,but access was gained none the less The light in here as many of you know or have gathered isnt great due to the small window at end of the room so its a bitch to get right Thanks for looking and no doubt i'll have a few more up during the day
  2. Well I thought id best share guys. If you are easily offended I apologise and you should move swiftly on as that is not my intention. I feel I have the duty to share my experiences in the form of imagery and this is my disclaimer. As in keeping with the recent facebook posts I thought id share my shit in a jar.   4. Once a successful veterinary school, the buildings known as the Horror Labs now lie abandoned, since the closure of the establishment in 1991. This impressive site is a set of 19 distinct houses, pleasantly separated by courts and gardens. All the façades are Neo-Renaissance Flemish style. The buildings date from early 1900's and are now listed as a historical monument. The main building is known for its grand lecture theatres, beautiful marble corridors and a basement filled with twisted treasures.   6. After 3 failed attempts previously we got lucky! After hearing various stories about the police and their response, I was scared to say the least! This is an old vet school with a creepy basement! Thank You!
  7. The last stop on the tour of Belgium with Scattergun,Stussy and Lost. Very relaxed explore this one, considering what I`d heard about getting in (gates/cars etc) 2 fellow explorers where even sleeping in a room they had managed to lock from the inside. I`m sure no history is required as its a well trodden haunt, however, I`m glad I`ve done it before it goes Gone a bit pic crazy so apols Upstairs we found 2 lecture theaters, one without seats one with large stone above entrance to theatre All around the ceiling line where pictures of famous figures heading down to the basement and we found what everyone comes to look at Cheers THE BARON

Spending our last night in Belgium in a quiet camp site we packed up the tent and packed the car, it wouldn't be long before the three nodding dogs wouldn't have to endure the death defying escapades of Baron's driving for much longer. We headed off in search of the Horror Labs, if we had any more near misses we could have been added to the collection in the Labs! I have always wanted to visit this outstanding Veterinary School in Belgium, so on the last day of our Belgium trip Baron, Lost & Scattergun spent the morning here. Thanks for looking

Second attempt for me to get in here, you have to be quite lucky I guess with the timings of people around etc. I always thought I either a)wouldn't like to see this place due to the nature of the objects in here or b)I've seen it posted often so didn't think I'd be that interested when I got there. I was SO wrong. I had hired a 100mm f2.8 macro, and I was having a field day. I was more shocked seeing the detail on my screem of the dogs nose hair and eye socket than I was photographing it. I was a mere *ahem* whisker away from it's rotting/ed face and I felt fine. What the f*&% is wrong with me?! haha After looking at them again, It makes me a bit sad. I hope they were used for good research and weren't killed in a horrible way. *sniff* Enjoy the pics...? lol 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
  10. This was the first place visited on the Belgium roadtrip with Wevsky, SX-Riff-Raff and Space Invader. Since seeing pictures from here ages ago, I've always wanted to see these Frankenstein exhibits before they completely disappeared, and thankfully I had a chance! The lighting in the exhibit room was a nightmare but with a trusty tripod I hope I got some pictures to capture the feel of this place. Though much has gone in the complex, this room still has enough to keep you occupied. Visited with Wevsky and SX-Riff-Raff with Space Invader taking 40 winks in the car. History has been repeated before so I'll cut to the chase and go straight to the pictures! Pictures:
  11. Hi all, I think most explorers are aware of this place, its the veterinary school of Anderlecht. I have posted a few of the more "tamer" photos below, the rest can be found on my Flickr account. Popped there in February as a few of my crew wanted to do it but never had the chance before and it was sealed good and proper and we had a bit of grief off the residents too. The Horror Labs, Also known as The Veterinary School Of Anderlecht. Unique doesn’t come close to explaining this place, buried deep in the basements of a seemingly innocent building remains a lab befitting that of Dr Frankenstein. Intestines, heads, hearts everything a budding mad scientist needs to create his or her very own monster. Currently under development, It is still a rather grand building which was built in the early 1900s to teach veterinary studies. The former school or Veterinary exists from 19 buildings. All spread concerning a surface of 4 ha. Each building rests on impressive cellars, mutually linked by galleries with passages. All facades of the buildings are build in a Flemish neorenaissance style, seperated by gardens and surrounded with a impressive fence. The construction project lasted from 1903 up to 1909 and the site had been inaugurated in 1910. The school of veterinary surgeons took the complex in use as from 1969 up to 1990. During the summer the veterinairy school relocated to establish itselve in Liege, where as of now the lessons take place. There is history out there but all I will say is that its the last building of the 19 to be converted into residences and is pretty much left as is for now. #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 #7 #8 #9 #10 Thanks for looking.
