  1. These are the shots that even i cant stretch to a report on each of them.. So i thought id lump them into a combined report. Uni l L'ecole Labryinth IM cooling tower One more report at some point then im done..thanks for putting up with the huge amount of reportage!
  2. Finally sorting out these pics from Belgium to post on here sorted into neat little groups, all from my mega explore week back in March which proved to be a very snowy affair indeed Here is an assortment of public/leisure buildings that don't deserve their own threads from various points on the trip. Bowling Mill There is a funny story attached to this place from our trip, when we did Villa Wallfahrt before here we bumped into a trio of explorers inside, they left about 10 minutes before we headed here - and while driving past here on the way to Atelier Decor we suddenly spotted three guys standing outside waving tripods at us, it turned out to be the same group we had seen in Wallfahrt! Small world is Belgium, very small This is a dreadfully difficult place to photograph, the inside is pretty dark in most areas and there are lots of mirror panels throughout which makes light painting a bitch! More http://www.flickr.com/photos/mookie427/sets/72157633016412498/ Chateau l'Ecole A pair of chateaus that in later life were a first/primary school, one has already been 90% renovated and we caught this one just in time as now there is full scale work going on. Stripped inside with not much to see but was worth a look as it was close to our hotel. More http://www.flickr.com/photos/mookie427/sets/72157633017411498/ Theatre Jeusette This was a backup after the sudden arrival of epic snowstorms forced us to abandon our plans for HF6, we rocked up with no idea on access but got a lucky break despite the snow, an impressive theatre but a shame all the seats have been stacked up in a side room.... More http://www.flickr.com/photos/mookie427/sets/72157633031350369/ Henri Jaspar Institute A former boys home, a backup of backups after a series of fails. The most depressingly ruined place on the road trip, but the snow covered rooftop balcony with no safety rails was a laugh at least and it was a nice peaceful wander. 3. Much like my other thread in the Leisure section, this is a mix of Belgian industry that doesn't warrant separate threads. Atelier Decor One of the more visited Belgian locations, this is a prime example of what makes Belgium what it is amongst explorers. A great place, hilariously obvious access and a nice peaceful wander, albeit this time in the pouring rain! This place was a plasterer's workshop at some point, it's taken a battering from the elements and thieves but still worth a look. More http://www.flickr.com/photos/mookie427/sets/72157633007042951/ IM Cooling Tower I covered the main power station last year but missed the cooling tower due to a succession of unfortunate events, namely dropping my gear in the muddy water underneath, whacking my head on a concrete support and then ripping a huge hole in my trousers! It was worth the wait though, as the conditions made it that bit more special even though it was BLOODY FREEZING More http://www.flickr.com/photos/mookie427/sets/72157633055447974/ Charbonnage du Gouffre The continuous snow made some of our plans a bit stupid so we were forced into backup mode big time on one day, so we hit up a couple of the coal washeries that have been closed for decades. Only shells left but once again the conditions played into our hands as the snow made them that bit more interesting to wander round. Not a bad view as far as they go More http://www.flickr.com/photos/mookie427/sets/72157633059309473/ Charbonnage Forte-Taile We missed the boat on this one, what used to be a fairly interesting location with a lot of old cars dotted around the site was now no more than a couple of large empty buildings and an old excavator...my bad on total research fail! More http://www.flickr.com/photos/mookie427/sets/72157633063588004/ Eylenbosch Brewery I nearly totalled my lens here, knocking my fully extended tripod over and it faceplanted a stone floor...luckily no real harm done other than a small crack in the front of the lens casing! A mostly empty brewery but a few nice features. More http://www.flickr.com/photos/mookie427/sets/72157633059437729/ Fonderie W A huge old foundry on the outskirts of a large city, one I stumbled across by accident on another forum. At some point most of it has been prepped for demolition with windows removed, stuff piled up etc but nothing has happened. More http://www.flickr.com/photos/mookie427/sets/72157633070712034/
  4. Stuff here doesn't deserve it's own thread, whether it was a backup location after a fail, or I just didn't take enough shots there to stretch it to thread-length they are here. This is the 'bread-and-butter' type exploring, it can't all be epics every week and I'm just as content to have a peaceful wander through a small location as I am to run away from angry guards in an epic location, even better if it's a peaceful wander through an epic location but you get my drift! So this is the best of the rest from last year. Click on the photos to go to the full sets. Mosaic House GEC Siemens Lighting, Birmingham RDB Interiors, Stourbridge Radford Mills/Viyella Works, Nottingham Currently being demolished. Gieterij Vuylsteke Foundry, Belgium All taken handheld in low light and pouring rain so it's lucky I got anything! Tile Factory, Belgium We passed this on the way to other sites and not being able to resist the allure of broken windows we went for a nose...no idea who used to own it but apparently it was a tile/ceramics factory at some point. Kasteel Goorhof, Belgium Newport Towers Hotel, Glos. Berkeley Vale Hotel, Glos. Now demolished
  5. Because I don't want to clog up the forums with a shedload of topics here is a big bumper pack.... Maison du Grand Georges Tapioca Farm Maison Boon - we had a very extreme encounter with the local farmer here, armed with a big stick and a wife who let the tyres down on our car. My advice, give this place a wide berth it's not worth getting killed over a derelict house. Villa Onder Ons Chateau Rochendaal Villa Albanaise Tree Mansion
