  1. This had to do this at night been a bit of traffic in and out during the day so i apologize for the pictures. I wanted to get in before they ruined it but i was a little too late. The Hanson family are mentioned to have lived here in the 16th century. The present house was built by Joseph Fourness in 1662 on the site of an earlier house. ​ Owners and tenants have included · Robert Fletcher [18th century] · Captain John Furness [1713] · John Sutcliffe [1790] · Thomas Sutcliffe [1810] · William Pollard and his family [1790 until 1802] · William Foster [1874] · William Brear [1891] · Frederic Walker [1901] · Frank Egerton Walker [1904] · Rev William Foxley Norris Reconstruction work was done by Gamaliel Sutcliffe In 1944, it became a home for the elderly. Was Grade II listed in 1954 It was also used via Halifax Social Services, Fostering Service. A planning application was withdraw to renovate the house in June last year. Weird seat under the stairs, i heard a rumour this place was a foster care home or something to do with children at some point. Maybe this is the naughty cupboard?
