  1. ...Belgian Weekender Day 3... After a night spent battling mosquitos in Hotel Tapioca, Luke n me were up early and, as this was the last day, we're keen to make the most of it!! Location No1 very nearly turns into 'Fail No1'! But luckily as we scout round the place for a second time, we're in!! And what a way to start the final day!! Gonna be hard to top that one!! VERY impressive, we'll give it a try none the less... Off to No2... Off to No3, another crumbling little gem full of those bits n pieces we all love... The best of the 'maisons' that we did that one... LOVELY!! On to our last location and one which we know nothing about, Mookster bungs us this one last minute, and we're glad he does cos it turns out to be a BOSTER!! Cheers fella!!! And thats it, its all over and time to drive back to Calais to catch the boat home... Its been fantastic! Belgium has surpassed my expectations!! I WILL BE BACK SOON!!! Once again a MASSIVE thanks to Mookster, NK and anyone else who helped us out on this one!! Keep em peeled for an NKPS Belgian adventure coming sooner than you might think!! Thanks for looking!!
  2. 'Belgian Weekender' Or 'How Not To Organise A Euro Derp Trip' ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well, here it is... My first Belgian urbexery experience! After dreaming and talking about it for months, me n NK finally get it sorted out and book a ferry. Excitement was running high, we just couldnt wait!! At long last... Thursday morning... B-Day!! YAY!! But disaster strikes!! A call from NK comes through, family crisis and she's gotta pull out!! GUTTED!! PROPER GUTTED!! So I turn to Facebook to try and get someone to fill the space... Step forward Luke and his very understanding girlfriend, he's up for it and the trips back on!!I'm soon driving like a bat out of hell southwards, I'm running late and it's started lamping it down biblical style! Cue the sat nav on my phone to pack up and I'm lost! JESUS!! Keep driving and hope the infernal contraption starts working again, which it does and thankfully I'm not too far off the route. Meet Luke, chuck his stuff in the car and it's 'foot to the floor' towards Dover in the escalating deluge! We arrive... 10 minutes late for check in and in my impatient mood to swap to a lane with less cars, I reverse into a polish guy queing behind us... OOPS!! Another 10 minutes wasted swapping insurance details! But against all the odds, we actually make it... just! It's not long and we're rolling off the ferry, time to punch our first location into my mums sat nav, but wait... co ordinates wont work in it and thats all I've got and I cant get internet on my phone so cant access my maps! GRRRR! FUCK! BOLLOCKS! etc... It's far too early in the morning to start texting people back home, but I can just remember where our first port of call is situated, so off we go and before you know it we're hiking through a thick forest in the dead of night, our first site lies somewhere ahead, the forest dissipates and there she is... Chateau de Foret! So impressive! Especially in the dark with a thunder storm crackling away in the distance. Unfortunately, but expectedly, she's sealed VERY tightly! We dont get the cameras out as it's started raining again so head back to the car and point it in the direction of Liege, we're nearly there and we start to get some texts coming through, sorted!! On to the first location... High on my list this one was, reminded me a bit of George Barnsleys! Couldn't get into the part with all the tools and labels though... I will return!! On to location No2... A bit trashed this one is but still VERY photogenic and a crackin mooch!! As you can see by are faces, we're pretty knackered by this point! But no rest for the wicked... Location No3... An old peoples home with an old chapel, the home's pretty trashed so only a couple of shots from in there, but the chapels a boster... It's only a quick one and its still light so we head off in the direction of Chateau le Chat Noir as it sounds like that could make a pretty good doss house too, not so... Fate has different ideas and I overshoot a very vague give way sign! Prang No2!! Waste a good 30-45 minutes sorting out insurance details (again!) with a slightly narky Belgian copper.... Day 2 up soon peeps... And can I just say a massive thanks to everyone who helped out with texting us locales... You know who you are and we'd have been BUGGERED without ya!! And fair play to Luke for jumping in at the last minute...Good man!! THANKYOU!!!
