Belgium Coffin makers, Belgium, Feb 2016

Recommended Posts

This one I can't seem to find any history on again... Maybe if I learnt to speak all the languages they speak in Belgium, it would be easier..? :L But anyway, this appeared to be a general furniture factory, with catalogues strewn about the place, along with lots of chairs, but of course, the most interesting room, and the one we were there for was the huge warehouse littered with woven coffins. We weren't in here long, due to there not really being all that much to see, but it was a real interesting stop all the same :D

I like this, I really like the fact that in the coffins it is quite obvious on the eye that a similar item to a duvet is used on the bottom of the coffin. I guess this is so that they are dead comfortable. ;) Nice little touch that even the dead are looked after :)

First report here, the well-known Chateau wolfenstein.

Lost somewhere in the Belgian Ardennes, the castle was built 1931 by a rich Baron.
It has many use throught the years, hospital, command centre during the war, care home for soldiers and, apparently some kind of jail for war and politic prisonners.

Now, it 's still a part a the hospital complex but it is unused, except for a room where the hospital stocks some servers.

An old train repair facility. Linked with one of the big steel works in Belgium. Now all closed. Things date back to around 2012. I think it closed around this time. the place isn't a bad mooch. a few people living inside taking copper.

The well known Lycée V. has been a grammar school for girls only. It#s been closed in the 1990's and abandoned since.

A large hospital, build in the 60's and will be demolished soon. It was one of the hospitals where they also removed the lamps and tables in the OK room.
But still a nice location for a Saturday with a nice staircase.
