Germany Children´s Hospital N. - August '16

Recommended Posts

The old children´s hospital was opened in the 1960s when it was relocated from the original building, which was built around the turn of the century.

Personally, visiting the old children´s hospital felt very special to me, as I, a premature baby, had to spent the first weeks of my life in this facility - on the top floor and high above the rooftops of my native town. Of course, my memories of this stay can´t even be described as "vague", as I have none at all. Yet, my exploration of this place remains special to me. I really enjoyed the view across the city -  consciously this time and probably as one of the last ones who received this opportunity.

I can imagine its going to be a lot more personal to explore a place with such a personal connection and also abandoned places that have association with kids always have a bit more poignancy too.

Great report :thumb

Lovely that is :) enjoyed the read too. As already mentioned must have been quite an experience to explore. The child aspect makes it that little bit more special. Nice set :thumb

Being a regular at the Nurburgring and this place being brought to my attention by a non explorer, the perfect opportunity after a day of storms arose!

Putting this one off all week with temperatures reaching the 30s, the moment came on a somewhat stormy day to check this place out, taking full advantage of the slightly cooler – yet humid air.

My first explore out of the UK too which made for something special, despite being a derp it was still something different and unique for myself in comparison to the UK.

There’s not much left of the place and the history is scarce, however it looks as though work began rebuilding the place but the cost of development was a spanner in the works.

The basement also contained a septic tank which is no longer allowed in the region, combining that with the nearest sewer being some distance away making development even more expensive.

An abandoned beacon in the baltic sea. There are two of it. One 1000m and the other one in 4000m distance from the runway.
Ther were used to enlarge the range of the runway ...so the pilots could navigate easier to the short runway.

Build and used by the NVA. The army of the former GDR... (DDR).

Thankful there was enough remaining to grab some shots and at the same time have a good giggle
      Splored With Lara,Trog and peaches

In the back area of the stage Lara found some costumes and the silliness began.
Beds began to roll up and down the corridors .

      Better not to ask

I nearly ran straight into secca.
At first i thought it was another fool dressed up but as Sindbad
Then realized he was a Sihk Secca lol

This fella was either as deaf as a post or turned a blind eye & I wasnt fussed with either.
As was more to see and we put a bit of distance between us and the now named Turbanator.

      Cheers for looking in

This one was visited on my latest trip through Germany.
This was the water treatment facility of a power plant. That power plant is already gone. There were also some outdoor water basins ,but they were well overgrown.
The  only thing I took from this facility were several mosquito's bites.
