The former hotel has been closed in 2007 and from the outside the building was unmistakably abandoned. But inside, it largely looked as if you only have to perform a few beauty repairs in order to use the hotel again.

My visit was already in 2012. I was told that the entrances were sealed later. I don't know what has become with it today.

Thanks! :)
Unfortunately, I don't know what the hotel looks like today. Emptied? Demolished? Vandalism? Reopened? No idea... I've never been there again because it's not near me.

By the way, most of the green "plants" were made of plastic. The real plants (as in the pool) were dried up long ago.  ;)

Looks like it would have been a lovely place to stay if I'm honest. I like 31, it's very quaint. Untouched goodness :) nice pics Andy :thumb

Did this massive head-drier work? Never seen one like that before

I know these hairdryers in german swimming pools from my childhood, and they worked. Whether this one was still working, I don't know, the power was switched off.

Wow, for somewhere that had been closed 5 years before your visit, it looks like the doors had just been closed the day before. If this place was in the UK, it wouldn't look like that after 5 years

I asked a friend who lives nearby. He told me that you can see through the windows that many new sinks have been delivered. So the hotel will probably be renovated and will get a new use.

Recently I drove over to a town called Clairton in PA. It's about 15 miles away from Pittsburgh. Clairton flourished from the mining of a fuel called coke. It was also the same town the film Deer Hunter was supposed to be filmed in. While things looks great for the town and it’s people, pollution was slowly but surely eating away at the towns people health. Years later when industry left, Clairton stood silent, poor, and broke beyond repair. Large scale cases of cancer sprouted and people soon learned that all the chemicals they were told could do them no harm created a living environment where cancer is now higher in Clairton than that of any other place in the United States. Paradise was truly lost and gave way to abandonment of whole neighborhoods. One of these areas is known as Lincoln Way, an abandoned street of homes. There was a fire years ago there. But the homes were abandoned  a long Tim before the fire. Some speak of a beastly animal prowling the neighborhood forcing residents to flee in  the middle of the night. But I think that's more of a myth like unicorns. Either way it was a really creepy place. An I actually filmed a music video there about suicide awareness. I'm attaching the video and also some pics for you guys to check out. Feel free to send me some feedback on youtube about the video. I film at a lot of different abandoned locations.

This small family crypt was built by a bavarian count in the middle of the 19th century.  Burried are his wife and their son who died at the age of 17.
Unfortunately vandalism stops at nothing. 99%  of graffities in LPs are crap. In this particular case the creator outed himself to be 100% idiot! 😖😂

An abandoned Italian villa next to the road. Nothing really special, because unfortunately stripped, but at least still with a few nice ceilings.
Due to the holey floors and cracked stairs, it was partially a bit tricky to enter the upper floors to photograph the ceiling paintings. But everything went well, without any crash or collapse.

Information about this small church is hard to find. It was built in the middle of the 19th century and is abandoned since the late 1960's.
