Germany Dr Anna's Haus - October 2013 [PICCY HEAVY]

Recommended Posts

Evening all,

Visited with Camerashy, Dai and Gareth earlier this month. This was one we definately had on the list to do, so after a very early start and over a good hour of waiting for sunrise which, with the rain made it very difficult on exposure times for the first couple of hours. Especially down stairs in the clinics which is what most people go there for.

An affluent looking town with an overgrown house/clinic in the centre. Apparently Dr Anna is still alive, over 100 years old and being cared for in nursing home accommodation. Her name and her husband's were apparently above the door of the Urological clinic they ran down in the lower levels of the basement. The house is a split level affair, with clinical and waiting / administration spaces on the ground and lower ground floors with an opulent house on the floors above. Dr Anna was clearly a well dressed lady judging by the amount of swanky old clothing and bags still there and the furniture. Not to mention the hobbies and travels they clearly had judging by the items left behind. Her husband died in a car crash sometime in the 90s and the home has been left to rot.

Not sure if this is the most current history, on with some photos.

In these buildings was produced from 1900 to 2009.
However, the origin of production goes back to the 14th century.

The rehab center consists of several buildings in very different state of preservation. While some rooms of the spa hotel still look almost as good as new, an outbuilding (possibly former apartments of employees) is already partially collapsing.
Unfortunately I don't know anything about the history.

A location I did on my own . After a nice walk I reached the site. Some parts of there seems still t be in use. One building had some new looking alarms and no windows were damaged.
First building I tried seems lead to nothing. Walked in a cellar with still a lot of cables, a new looking fusebox and no trash. There was no way to go further up so I tried the other buildings.
Still needed to do some climbing but then the explore could start. It looked like a small coal mine the closes a few decades ago. Spent there a few hours.  At one moment there was a car going over the terrain.
Not sure if it was security or not but I waited hidden in a dark corner of the building for some time. Nothing happened and I started going to the exit.
      Hope you enjoy the picture.
