Bored as f*ck and reprocessing some old jpegs :( taken with a D50 and its kit lens.

The Internationale Film-Union GmbH Remagen was a copy and dubbing company that existed from 1946. More than 800 feature films were dubbed there, for example the Don Camillo films and numerous films with Laurel and Hardy.

The dubbing studios were built in 1946/1947, and the building also housed three studios, a control room and projection room, editing and performance room and lounges for actors.

Despite meeting the safety standards (as you will see on the pics lol), a decisive event in the company's history occurred in 1965: An explosion caused by spontaneous combustion of the nitrate film destroyed a complete bunker complex and part of the valuable film material stored there - the property damage went into the Millions. No people were harmed.

Until 1973, numerous stars dubbed their films at the IFU . Among them were: Romy Schneider , Hildegard Knef , Ellen Schwiers , Hansjörg Felmy and Gert Froebe.

Work became scarce and in 1996, copying was stopped. Bought by a wealthy property-owner, the premises has been converted into a hunting lodge.

Spent quite a bit of time looking for it on the net.
A 600km trip in my good ol alfa 147. I went into the side building a bit, but didn't find the studio so i went back to the car and was about to leave when i saw a bit of roof sticking out the trees a bit further...

That's a cracking report. Your pictures are fantastic, door shot, colours in the film reels etc.

Bet you had a great wander.

600km in an alfa though, did you have to go on an auto electric course in preparation? 😁
