St. Peter's Hospital Mortuary, Chertsey Jan 2016

Looking back now I really should have made more of an effort to see this place before it became the sodden ruin that it is today. I have gone past it so many times on route to other explores and never bothered to stop by always putting it off for another day. Well finally came the time that, after checking out a few interesting but dead-end leads in the general vicinity, I decided to say 'we should go to St. Peter's Mortuary'.​

What a mess it has become, I can remember a time five or six years ago when it was undamaged and totally intact and now the fridges are pretty much dismantled, there is graffiti all over the place and some wiseguy has removed one of the slabs which has severed a water pipe in the process, which is now gushing water at quite a rate into the building and it won't be long until it's all flooded out now. There is a good couple of inches of water in there already.​

History, what there is of it, has been done a few too many times so here is my take on the most sodden mortuary in the world.​

The 3rd slab went many moons ago ,even when we visited there was a fair amount of water and at the time still power on which is pretty crazy,you got some good pics of what i agree is a bloody ruin

This is one of those places that we must visit, I like it. Very photogenic still despite its condition. 

I laugh every time I see those curtains.. Someone's effort at getting a good pic but cutting them the wrong way.

Sad, what's happened with this place. I'm glad that I could see it before, without graffiti.

You used to be able watch yourself on the CCTV system that was rigged up inside there. Good to see it's still worth a visit.

It's getting worse but remarkably slowly considering how long it's been open. Hasn't really changed from a year ago apart from the graff....

Strangely looking cleaner than last time I saw it. I think it's had so much water running through it now that it's actually cleaning itself!
