Thurlow Arms
Pubs are generally crap & wouldn't normally warrant a report but this one was a little different.
I stumbled on this searching maps & post explore found a few bits on social media so its no secret, but am sure there will be a flurry of fb posts after this report.
This victorian building was built in 1868 as a railway hotel & was later renamed the baynard hotel.
The land was owned by The Revd. Thomas Thurlow, owner of Baynards Par.
Despite the railway closure in 1965 The Baynards Brewery operated at the pub from until 2000 & it continued as a pub & brewery in private hands until 2009.
The pub was originally adorned with various antiquities strangely predominantly hats, a fair few of which still remain.
Visited this one twice last year on my own with a nackered camera & early this year with a non form mate.
Moving to the rear we find a rather nice brewing set up
Probably the best abandoned pub in the world?
Thanks For Looking
