A word of advice from a novice photographer who nearly paid a very nasty price. Don’t ever use Cleaning swabs to clean your camera's CCD sensor, even if, like the ones I bought they claim they are for your camera.
I’ve just recently bought a used camera and was informed by the previous owner that the sensor could do with a clean, and like an idiot I tried to save money and bought the swabs. You can imagine the look of horror on my face when I saw what looked like big scratches on the sensor.
Luckily and only £35 later, my camera is cleaned and working brilliantly.
Guys don’t be an idiot like me and try to DIY sensor clean. If it hadn't been for a very helpful shop in Canterbury (If you want the name PM me) I think I would still be crying over what I thought was a short lived camera upgrade.
