So, we all decided we needed a slice of industrial on this trip, and with being in Liege what better way to settle that than with a little visit to HFB. It seemed we'd picked just about the coldest weekend to visit Belgium, and Sunday morning was absolutely bitter. We left the hotel at a rather reasonable 6am, and before long we were on our way in wishing it was just a little bit warmer. Once inside we all took a well deserved break in the control room, and a pint of cheap belgium beer later I started shooting. We'd seen other explorers on site, and security were definitely on the ball. It wasn't long before 2 police vans and a bright yellow security van were driving about, so we packed tripods up and headed up high, so unfortunately all of these were shot handheld. It's an absolutely beautiful view from the top, albeit an absolutely freezing one. After a few awkward hellos with about 6 other explorers and with fingers feeling like they might drop off, we made our way back down. Only got to see about 10% of this site, partially due to the temperature, so a revisit in the summer is definitely needed! We slipped away undetected, and headed for the warmth of the car and onto the next derp..
As always, thanks for looking!
