I had been aware that this place was disused since 2014, and it had clearly ceased trading a good while before that judging by how it looked externally. After many visits hoping for a look inside, when I finally got the chance I was surprised how easy it was in the end. The grade II listed Georgian hotel has been one of the focal points of the town since 1827 and its deterioration has caused considerable anger within the local community. The interior condition was curious - it ranged from some bedrooms that you could spend the night in (at a push) to other areas that were completely wrecked.
Luckily the security owl wasn't too bothered about me being there!
