This former iron mine is situated in a small valley at the so called iron route within the Italian mountains. In the mid-19th century the owner of the company decided to switch from mining iron to mining fluorite. This decision led to a vast expansion of the structure until the 1950s. In 1999 the mine was finally closed.
Exploring the structure is extremely dangerous due to heavy corrosion offending the metal floors. So take care.

Good to see the inside of here! I've had it on my map for years but never made it there yet

My trips to Italy are always a mix of exploring and riding my Vespa. Due to the unbearable heat in central north Italy I spontaneously changed my plans (expected to visit Genoa) and ride back to the mountains and the lakes. As I always wanted to visit Dosso dei Galli the mine was on the way.
