Love those old murals. Our guide took us to a completely destroyed control room for some reason so we fucked off and climbed the radar instead. He wasn't happy

Unfortunately, a problem with a trip to Pripyat is that you usually don't know in advance, what kind of guide you're getting. There are many black sheep and many guides who don't do their job very well or just halfheartedly. 
I know many friends who were very disappointed after the trip to Chernobyl / Pripyat and who also were very dissatisfied with their guide. After all, particularly the trip there and the costs of the guide aren't cheap. Then of course it's extremely annoying if you don't have a good guide and if you don't come at the expense of the trip for this reason.

He was pretty good for the most part but for some reason didn't show us any of the good stuff at Duga. Maybe if he had we wouldn't have climbed the radar which annoyed the fuck out of him ?

No, I never have been there, for different reasons.
 

1. It's too expensive. 
2. It would be extremely annoying for me that I couldn't move freely. I don't like relying on a guide. And I don't like being unable, to do what I want, where I want it and when I want it.
3. Besides, due to the catastrophe that caused the abandoned area, there's a difference there to other places. So I probably wouldn't have as much fun there, as I normally have while exploring.
 

After all, for these reasons, I never have been in Pripyat.

Needless to say our guide was brilliant and there is no access to the radar structures as all ladders have been locked off. It is also a criminal offence to attempt to climb said structures I bet you have done great pictures from said structures

I'd actually never been through them until now, I did get a few good ones as it happens. Cheers for the reminder, it's only taken me 4 years

Lovely shots folks particularly the radar ones..We went here with Solo East and I must say that the guides were great and showed us many buildings including the school and fire station.The only thing that took the edge off the trip was the beast from the east..we had to endure a foot of snow all around the zone but hey.
