The Fire Plane, Oct' 13

At a loose end this afternoon I met up with Landie Man and after some faff found ourselves in Newbury, I'd wanted to see the fire plane at the Greenham site for a long time so now was a good chance...a very interesting little piece of base history.

Oh, and it was bloody cold.

It was a training rig used on the base for practice in putting out airplane fires, its one of the only bits of Greenham Common left intact apart from the GAMA Site
