A revisit after seven years ...
In this nondescript house in the woods, a seamstress lived until her death in the early 80s in modest circumstances. So there was no bath, only a (now completely ruined) toilet house in the garden, and not even a sink can be found. My first visit was exactly seven years ago. Actually, I assumed that the house was already collapsed, but it defied wind and weather and is still standing.
Already in 2009, everything was ransacked, although at that time clothes still hung accurately on hangers at the door of the bedroom. Half-full bottles of liquor stood next to perfume flacons and preserving jar, and various documents were conclude to the former inhabitant:
an electoral card for the state election 1952, addressed to a woman born in 1903, as at the same time an official letter, which was addressed to a lady born in 1941. Mother and daughter? And who was the 1960 deceased man whose grave cross gradually is rotting in the depths of the cellar?
Because of various photographers visits in recent years, today in the living room is no more the same complete chaos of seven years ago. But also many things disappeared - the sewing machine, a model Ship, the perfume flacons, the phone. And in what has remained, the ravages of time is gnawing ceaselessly ...
But a lot of nice details can still be found. As well as the beautiful moss-covered car in the garden.
