After walking around the dark arches quite a few times and reading online that there was old tunnels, subway's, offices and other stuff hidden amongst the arches and under the train station we set about trying to get into these parts but had no success, lots of locked doors and cameras. We decided it was worth asking network rail if they would let us have a look, surprisingly they asked us which day was best for us and a week later we went over for a look.

After a short video about safety at the station :wankerwe went through some doors at the side of Platform 8 and headed downstairs and we found ourselves in the older disused parts of the station with a few offices in use by network rail workers.

It really is like a maze down there after a short while we opened a door and ended up in the parking area in the dark arches and then got shown the old passenger access to the platforms. After this back up into the station and through a door near McDonald's, down a dodgy old lift and we ended up in the storage area for some of the shops in the station, in here a door opened up to the queens hotel car park and we were greeted by a familiar smell of the river aire, round the corner a small red door opens up to the dark arches.

After a quick look at the arches we headed back through the storage area and ended up in a few big chambers deep below the station, quite a lot of asbestos dumped down here which the bloke showing us around didn't want me to get a picture of.

All in all a interesting visit and we managed a lot we wouldn't have seen without permission :D

Pictures are in order of the route we took through the place.
