Very little is known about this place. It is located in Kent and is on three levels.
After seeing this place a couple of years back it has always been one of those…ill do it another day explores. Finally along with fortknox0 we managed to get in to have a look. This place was a lot larger than I could’ve ever imagined and other than some sprayed graffiti from the local chaves in ’81 its in a good condition and has no damage or graffiti. This as you will see is one off the few places I am unable to disclose so for anyone wanting to visit I’m sorry but am unable to discuss entry information.
The tunnel layout consist of three parallel tunnels on three levels connected by chalk cut staircases.
The middle level
brick steps leading to the upper level
on the upper level was a small room almost like a chapel. This had seats cut from the chalk and holes for candles.
At the top of the brick lined staircase was a capped off entrance. This would have been the original entrance into the tunnel system.
picture taken from the lower level looking up to fortknox0 standing on the middle level.
finally here is a photo of the lower level which once again had seats cut into the chalk.
due to the size of this place and the fact there were seats cut into the chalk and the condition of the place im assuming it was a WW2 air raid shelter. It couldn’t be a smugglers tunnel and I doubt its WW1 but I could be wrong!
