I think most people know the history of this place. It was a power station in Willington (Derbyshire) until the final part closed in late 90's and was subsequently demolished. The only thing left standing now is the 5 cooling towers and the nearby sub station.

There isnt a huge amount to see around this site but it is worth a Sunday afternoon mooch if your in the area as there are a few interesting bits and pieces lieing around.

Anyway, on to the pics. I wasnt in the area long as it was a late afternoon decision and the light was fading by the end. Also couldn't resist taking the last pic of the graffiti, as it was my initials lol

Hi Decender,Thats good to see and do like the vastness of cooling towers

Thanks for the comments guys. Posted the same set on another well know urbex forum and didn't quite the same positive comments on the shots (particularly the editing). Each to there own I guess, but I know which forum I will continue to post on in the future ;)

Not many of these you can actually go walk under left in the UK now, they are fast becoming a sight of the past. It's so hard to show the vastness of these in a few photos, but your's capture it well. :)

Just had a look at the feedback on the other report, shocking stuff, and it makes me sad. Quite a contrast eh?

That sunlight flare shot is mint (y)

Seriously, thanks again guys.

As has been said it really is hard to show the vastness of these things and there also rather impressive when u get up close and inside them for the first time. Just as I was leaving the site on this particular day a guy was arriving with a drone. Unfortunately the weather turned to I didnt hang about. Shame cus I bet he got some fantastic shots from that thing.

Also, yes the feedback on the other report is a little shocking to say the least. It makes me sad also. Not because of the comments to my work, as this sort of thing doesnt faze me in the slightest as ive been photographing for 25 years now. But more so that these comments are not just isolated to my report, I see them time and time again and there are alot of people out there just getting started and those sorts of comments could put people off showing there work.

Anyway, rant over :) I look forward to sharing some more of my work soon.
