Willington Power Station Cooling Towers (visited 2007) 2013

Another explore with the long suffering,again,she declined the excitement,and remained in the car!!

Tiny bit of info:Cooling Towers from the old power station that shut in 1999.The towers are 300 feet high..218 feet in diameter at base..145 feet in diameter at the top and 122 feet in diameter at the throat.

We visited in 2007,and now in 2012,there is still no sign of them being demolished..see them if you can as they are simply amazing

Do like a nice cooling tower mate the ones near us got blown up big time last year,quite a site to behold

Really enjoyed lookin through these, stunning shots mate. I did my first cooling tower in Belgium. I could only describe it as akin to being in space, gives new meaning to the term 'vast'. Nice one

Nice indeed often wondered what was inside the base and how they worked, Some quality shots there too, Our locals ones were a site to behold before they were demo'd, impressive to watch on their way down though !
