On one of our recent jaunts to Wiltshire, we decided to pop our heads into this little mine, more to kill some time than anything else. It's quite small this place, but has some quite nice features including a well preserved cutting bench and a nice stone staircase as the mine is on 2 levels. Bit of a death trap in places, and it's full of rubbish at one point, mainly prams, pushchairs and bicycles!
there's lots of stone stacked up on the lower level which was never removed, but does show how the stone was worked and cut in the mine before it was removed to the surface.

See all the quarrymans calculations on the wall behind the cutting block.
Stone staircase that leads down to the lower level
Looking the other way. You can just see it leads into a little room with a nice arched ceiling. My lens isn't wide enough to capture that properly thou.
