Location
Worms / Germany
Website

I discovered the castle from the 18th century, a few years ago on an aerial view on the internet. But somehow it got then forgotten again, so I visited it just more than a year later.

Later, I talked with a woman from the village who knew to tell interesting details about the castle (which I do not publish, in order to not to disclose the location). Formerly the castle was inhabited by a baroness. In a small area has lived someone until 2007.

The substance was really very dilapidated therefore large parts were no longer able to enter.

I always wondered about the history of this place, for a ruin it's one of my favourite Belgian Chateaus - and I do wonder how it got it's more widely known name 'Chateau Congo', I thought it was to do with how overgrown the outside was and the trees coming out the roof but I guess we'll never know!

The castle got the name "Chateau Congo" because inside were photos of a black family.
I see!! Not sure what the PC-Brigade would make of that now
