Took a bit of time deciding if I could be arsed to go back out to the fort and photograph it properly ( the last time I went was after grain fort and tower and didn't really bother) after spending the day on the roof at home I was faced with the option of going or sitting there watching some women giving birth on the tv  safe to say I was out the door, on my own as I had blown out my exploring buddies due to the roof during the day

quick note to anyone who wants to see this, the walk IS as far as it looks on the map, it's made further by the fact that there are lights halfway which you presume are the fort (even on a revisit I still had my hopes up!) anyway on with the photos

luckily for everyone's eyes my whisk untied itself and flew off during the last photo :-( also having been knee deep in cow's shite two weeks ago and too close for comfort on the pig shit down at Sarre i thought I had got away with it on this one but it turns out there are now horses there.....

lol never trust a cow, there is a public right of way around the front of the fort, I'd imagine it's quite a nice walk from the gravesend side past the destroyed fort

we came in at the main gate ,the long walk, which looked very locked so we skipped into the field on the right

i just slid round the first gate and over the second, the way you went is through the doggers car park, i bet trudging through that field made the walk twice as long!

was a [leasant wander, was a van with men in high viz by the first gate so we opted for the fresh air route

so the gate was locked? I wonder if it is ever open on the weekend for the sailing/diving club next to the fort, being able to drive it would make life so much easier!
