Germany FC Germ 08 - visitied 05/2018

[Ghost-Scooter]

Although this is not one of the most spectacular places I want to introduce to you my visit of this former soccer club as I really love the story behind it. 

Founded in 1908 the FC Germ 08 provided a very inglorious but funny story in 2008. Driven by desire of success the club had installed a new chairman who invested in expensive players - expensive on the level of the 8th German soccer league. Unfortunately it soon turned out that the money was misappropriate so the chairman was sentenced to jail. Due to this scandal all the good players left the club. So in the following season the team came off extremely  bad. The team  suffered one setback after another and had to accept 508 goals against in one season. ? So the team attracted the German media's attention and titled "the worst Soccer Club on earth".
Attracted by the media's attention players and officials of FC Germ 08 had some very disturbing appearances in the German TV shows. Subjected to ridiculousness the club decided to unregister all teams for the next to season. ??? For one year the teams were trained at the clubs area but did'nt participate in any match.

In 2011 the club started anew. In 2016 the FC Germ 08 became insolvent.

Wow, I didn't realise financial irregularities happened in German football. Always a shame when stuff like that happens, not fair for the loyal fans. 

Nice little explore though. Nice to see a stadium pop up

In its most successfull times FC Germ 08 was in the 8th German League.  I'd call it a rural farce.
