Hudson's Bastion - Dover castle - report 2009

[Obscurity]

Hudson’s bastion was constructed on the eastern side of Dover castle to improve defences after the threat of invasion by Napoleon. It can be accessed from the castle via Hudson’s passage, a straight tunnel linking the castle to the moat. The bastion was designed with a number of firing slits to provide flanking fire along with a caponier from the bastion into the ditch for extra defence.

This is one bit of the castle that annoys me, as it would be so rediculously easy for them to open it to the public, but ooooohhh no it has to stay secretly locked away behind closed gates. :roll:

It may not be open to the public and it may be behind closed gates but a report like this is just one big middle finger to EH :lol: i do believe we are all members of the public lol!

Well not me so much as Dazzer and a certain person who works for EH but shall remain nameless causing him a load of s**t!

I don't think I have posted my pics of hudsons yet, i probably should do. I tend not to post my photos of the places around Dover castle, since most of them have been well covered before and my photos arn't usually anywhere near as good as a lot of other peoples.
